普陀区图书馆建于1957年。图书馆设有书刊外借部、图书阅览部、报刊 阅览部、法律文献阅览部、电子阅览室、信息服务中心和辅导部等对外服务窗口。收藏了《四库全书》、《申报》、《民国日报》、《淳化阁帖》等整套资料。近年来加强了对电子出版物、多媒体读物和各类数据库的采集。图书馆积极引导读者利用图书馆，每年与新闻单位、出版社联手开展群众性的读书活动。定期组织评选各类推荐书目。江泽民同志1987年为普陀区图书馆题词：“公共图书馆是人民的终身学校。”2002年1月上海市中心图书馆普陀分馆建成开馆，读者借阅实现了“一卡通”，读者可通过网上联机检索公共目录，共享中心图书馆的书刊文献资料和网络数字资源等。作为普陀区政府2004年的实事工程之一，普陀区图书馆改造工程后，进一步拓展了服务功能。新建了多媒体电子阅览室。通过内部局域网，充分利用高速网络的宽带，可同时查阅多媒体电子读物。多媒体电子阅览室通过远程访问服务与上海中心图书馆等单位局域网连接。该室集多媒体电子读物阅览、影视片点播观看、网络检索、各类培训等为一体。组建了“全国文化信息资源共建共享基层分中心”、“中国数字图书馆普陀区图书馆分馆”、“多媒体信息处理工作站”等，同时对现有的图书馆5个借阅部门开通网络书目查询、电子书刊阅读、数据库检索等。利用现代化的手段开展多载体服务，实现信息资源互补，形成文献信息提供的整体效应。普陀区图书馆被文化部评为国家一级图书馆，并连续三届被评为上海市文明单位。 |
Shanghai Putuo District Library, open to the public in 1957
and featuring in law collections, provides such services as circulation,
monograph and newspapers reading, online reading, reference and
community library supporting. Among its valuable collections
are complete sets of the Siku Quanshu, ShenBao Press(Shanghai
Journal), Minguo Ribao Press, Chunhuage Tie ( works of China
ancient calligraphic masters ).,etc. In recent years, great attention
has been paid to the digital library program. An increasing number
of electronic and virtual resources has been made available in
the Library or online. Good books are recommended to readers
on a regular basis, and various activities promoting the use
of the library are given annually with the media and the publication
houses playing as co-sponsors.
In 1987, ex-president Jiang zemin wrote an epigraph for the library:
Public libraries are people’s lifelong learning centers.
In January, 2002, the library became one of Shanghai Central
Library members connected by the one-card-through check out service
system, coordinating
others in acquisition, circulation, resource building and sharing.
Upon renovation In 2004, an electronics reading room was opened,
providing access to electronic databases through the library
network, offering such services as Online Database Retrieval,
VOD online watching and training.
The library is a branch of both the National Culture Resource
Building and Sharing System and China Digital Library System.
It’s also a workstation processing multi-media information. Online
catalog and database retrieval and electronics reading are available
in all its circulation and reading rooms, offering integrated
real-virtual documentary delivery service.
The library is rated as National First Class Library by the National
Culture Ministry and named as Shanghai Model Unit twice consecutively.
